During the month of Muharram, Alkhair Foundation continued implementing a wide range of sustainable water projects across several countries as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to improve access to clean and safe waterfor vulnerable communities. These initiatives were carried out in cooperation with partners and generous donors to enhance living conditions and promote long-term community resilience.
Among the projects completed was the inauguration of several shallow and semi-artesian wells, including a semi-artesian well equipped with an electric pump, donated in memory of the late Zulaikha Zarali Mohamed, in partnership with the Danish Charity Crescent. Additional shallow wells were also completed in Kenya, providing reliable sources of clean drinking water for dozens of families who previously faced significant challenges in accessing safe water.
The Foundation also expanded its work in Asia by installing hand water pumps, making water collection easier for families while reducing the physical burden of obtaining their daily water needs. In Africa, deep water wells were drilled to provide sustainable water sources for communities experiencing recurring water shortages.
As part of its commitment to supporting livelihoods, Alkhair Foundation implemented solar-powered irrigation systemsin Garissa County, Kenya. These systems enable farmers to irrigate their land more efficiently, increase agricultural productivity, and strengthen food security for local communities through sustainable access to water.
In addition, the Foundation distributed rolling water containers, an innovative solution that allows families to transport larger quantities of water with less effort, reducing the time and physical strain associated with collecting water over long distances.
Alkhair Foundation affirms that water projects remain among the most impactful and sustainable humanitarian interventions, improving public health, strengthening community resilience, and enabling families to live with greater dignity and stability. Through these initiatives, the Foundation continues its mission of ensuring that access to clean water becomes a reality for communities that still lack this essential human right.
