Driven by its moral and humanitarian responsibility toward the people of Palestine, and in light of the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza, Alkhair Foundation convened a humanitarian workshop on Saturday, 1 November 2025, in Tangerang, Republic of Indonesia, under the title:
“Emergency Response for Saving Gaza – Early Recovery Phase.”
This workshop came as a continuation of the Foundation’s humanitarian response plan launched in Istanbul in mid-October, as part of its efforts to coordinate international humanitarian and relief initiatives and strengthen urgent response actions to save lives in Gaza.
Representatives from humanitarian organizations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Pakistan participated, alongside several regional and international relief institutions. The discussions focused on building an effective, coordinated response to meet the urgent needs of affected populations during the critical early recovery phase.
Participants emphasized the importance of coordinated humanitarian action in the four most affected sectors:
Food and Water
Health
Shelter
Education
A comprehensive 60-day response plan was endorsed — extendable as needed — structured around three key phases:
Immediate Emergency Response: Providing safe shelter, food, and urgent healthcare.
Transitional Phase: Moving from tents to semi-permanent housing units.
Community Empowerment Phase: Supporting families and creating temporary livelihood opportunities that strengthen resilience and recovery.
The workshop identified key challenges facing humanitarian work in Gaza, including:
Widespread destruction of infrastructure (water, electricity, sanitation, and roads).
Financial and banking restrictions hindering humanitarian transfers.
The ongoing blockade obstructing entry of essential aid.
Severe shortages of medical equipment, transportation means, and rising hunger and disease rates.
Participants concluded with several key recommendations:
Expedite the establishment of temporary shelters that preserve human dignity and protect displaced families.
Strengthen coordination among humanitarian partners to ensure effective and sustainable relief operations.
Support education and health as essential pillars for rebuilding Gaza’s society.
Expand psychosocial support programs, particularly for children, orphans, and widows.
Invest in renewable energy and water projects to ensure sustainability of humanitarian interventions.
At the closing of the workshop, Alkhair Foundation reaffirmed its unwavering humanitarian commitment to the people of Gaza and its readiness to collaborate fully with all local and international partners to unify efforts and coordinate a rapid, effective humanitarian response that safeguards lives and dignity.
“From Indonesia… the voice of humanity rises for Gaza.”
