Qurbani: A Form of Worship Beyond the Individual
Every Eid season, Qurbani returns as a reminder of both obedience and mercy.
It is not merely a ritual, but a complete experience that begins with sincere intention and extends its impact to homes awaiting the joy of Eid through the gift of meat.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
"It is not their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is your piety that reaches Him."
(Surah Al-Hajj: 37)
The Sunnah of Selecting the Sacrifice: The Beginning of the Journey
The journey begins with careful selection. Ensuring the animal is healthy and free from defects is a core aspect of honoring this act of worship.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"There are four that are not permissible in sacrificial animals: the clearly one-eyed, the clearly sick, the clearly lame, and the emaciated animal that cannot be cleansed."
(Reported by Al-Tirmidhi)
This step is not merely procedural; it reflects excellence and sincerity in worship, where impact begins from the very first action.
Time of Slaughter: Renewed Obedience
The time of Qurbani extends from after the Eid prayer until sunset on the last days of Tashreeq, a divinely prescribed timeframe that gives structure to the act of worship.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever slaughters before the prayer, it is merely meat he has offered to his family, and it is not considered sacrifice."
(Agreed upon – Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Here, intention transforms into action, and the first milestones of the journey are fulfilled.
From Implementation to Distribution: Where Impact Truly Begins
At Alkhair Foundation, Qurbani does not end with slaughter. It begins a more sensitive phase: delivering it with dignity to those in need.
The Qurbani project is implemented under strict Sharia guidelines, with organized distribution reaching the most vulnerable families, especially in crisis-affected regions.
In these moments, the value of the sacrifice is not measured by weight, but by the reassurance it brings to a waiting home.
A Joy Delivered in Silence
On Eid day, meat reaches doors that have long awaited such moments of relief.
There are no cameras, no full stories told—only lasting impressions left in small details: a warm meal, a child’s smile, and a rare moment of restored normality.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"The most beloved people to Allah are those most beneficial to others."
(Reported by Al-Tabarani, authenticated by Al-Albani)
Qurbani: When the Journey is Complete
From selection to slaughter, and finally to the hands that receive it with gratitude—the Qurbani journey is complete as both worship and lasting impact.
In the 2026 Qurbani Project, the goal remains simple: to perform the ritual as it should be, and ensure it reaches those who need it as it must.
